The Grammys 2015

Flaco Jiménez , the 73-year-old accordionist from San Antonio, Texas who brought Tex-Mex flavor to the music of Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Ry Cooder and many other artists around the world, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2015 Grammys.

Jiménez, who gained worldwide mainstream popularity as a member of the crossover bands The Texas Tornados and Los Super Seven, is a now six time Grammy Award winner. Jimenez is a distinguished accordion player and the manufacturer Hohnor created the Corona II Flaco Jimenez Signature Model in his honor.

The only Latin artist to receive the career Grammy tribute this year, Jimenez was honored alongside the side of the Bee Gees member Barry Gibb, Pierre Boulez, Buddy Guy, George Harrison, the Louvin Brothers and Wayne Shorter at the invitation only ceremony on Feb. 8, 2015 awards show in Hollywood, California.
